Intercard Payments Inc. claims Tax Shield Plus is infringing on mark

Trademark 08

LOS ANGELES – A Woodland Hills tax-related services corporation claims a Tarzana company is unlawfully using its mark.

Intercard Payments Inc., doing business as US Tax Shield, filed a complaint on Feb. 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Tax Shield Plus LLC and Does 1 through 10 alleging trademark infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business as the result of its trademark being used without permission. The plaintiff holds Tax Shield Plus LLC and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly kept on using the US Tax Shield trademark despite receiving plaintiff's cease and desist notice.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks injunction against the defendant, actual damages, profits, interest, actual damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephanie P. Alexander and Douglas Vanblarcom of Gordon and Rees LLP in Irvine.
