LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County woman is seeking declaration from the court that she is entitled to disability benefits.

Dina Shapiro filed a complaint on March 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Aetna Life Insurance Co. Long Term Disability Plan; Aetna Life Insurance Co. in its capacity of administrator of the Aetna Life Insurance Co. Long Term Disability Plan citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2014, she became disabled and applied for disability benefits but her claim was denied.
