Brown and Joseph LTD accused of calling man without permission

SAN FRANCISCO – A Pittsburg man alleges a debt collector called him without his consent.

Alfredo Leon Orea filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on March 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Brown and Joseph LTD and Does 1 through 10 citing the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that beginning in October 2016, he suffered damages from receiving several collection calls from the defendants. The plaintiff holds Brown and Joseph LTD and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly kept on calling the plaintiff using an automatic telephone dialing system without his consent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks $500 in statutory damages, $1,500 in treble damages, and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Todd M. Friedman, Adrian R. Bacon and Meghan E. George of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman P.C. in Woodland Hills.
