Lilt Inc. alleged to have infringed SDL PLC patents

Patents 01

SAN FRANCISCO – A Portola Valley corporation is accused of unlawfully using patented technology registered by a United Kingdom software and professional services company.

SDL PLC filed a complaint on April 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Lilt Inc. alleging patent infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business as the result of its '020, '622, and '684 patents being infringed. The plaintiff holds Lilt Inc. responsible because the defendant's translation platform infringes those patents.

The plaintiff seeks damages adequate to compensate the plaintiff, interest, enjoin the defendant, actual damages, all legal fees, and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by John S. Ferrell, Scott R. Mosko and Myrna M. Schelling of Carr & Ferrell LLP in Menlo Park.
