LOS ANGELES – A New York photographer alleges her photo of the late Christopher "Notorious B.I.G." Wallace was used without authorization.
Dana Ruth Lixenberg filed a complaint on April 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Coogi Partners LLC, doing business as Coogi Australia, and Does 1- 10 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages from having her work used without authorization. The plaintiff holds Coogi Partners LLC and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly sold apparel bearing plaintiff's photograph.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendants, award all profits, monetary advantages, statutory damages, all legal fees, a trust be entered over all accused products, and all profits, interest and any other relief as the court deems just.
