Lakeview Builders alleged to owe more than $12,000 in contributions to union funds

LOS ANGELES – A California corporation is alleged to have failed to pay employee contributions.

Carpenters Southwest Administrative Corp. and the board of trustees for the Carpenters Southwest Trust filed a complaint on April 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against Lakeview Concrete & Masonry Inc., doing business as Lakeview Builders, and Does 1 through 10 citing the Labor-Management Relations Act of 1947 and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered damages due to unpaid and late-paid contributions. The plaintiffs holds Lakeview Concrete & Masonry Inc., doing business as Lakeview Builders, and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly breached their bargaining agreement to the plaintiff by failing to pay their fringed benefit contribution on behalf of their employees.

The plaintiffs seek unpaid contributions in the sum of $12,322.49, interest and liquidated damages, statutory damages, all legal fees, and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Jodi Siegner of DeCarlo & Shanley in Los Angeles.
