Los Angeles County man alleged to owe on student loans

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County man is alleged to have failed to pay two student loans.

United States of America, on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education, filed a complaint on April 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Moses Joseph Edem alleging that the individual failed to settle his debt with the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Edem failed to pay the principal amount of his debts plus interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $3,176.51 plus interest of $8,507.28 with interest accruing thereafter at 9.130 percent per annum; principal amount of $7,291.15 plus interest of $15,449.66; all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Kathryn E. Van Houten of Irsfeld, Irsfeld & Younger LLP in Glendale.
