Man alleged to have defaulted on student loans

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County resident is accused of failing to pay two education loans.

United States of America, on behalf of the Department of Education, filed a complaint on April 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Mohammad M. Manouchehri alleging that the individual failed to settle his debt with the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Manouchehri failed to pay the principal amount of his debts including interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $5,370.84 plus interest of $14,083.02 with interest accruing thereafter at 9 percent per annum; principal amount of $2,685.45 plus interest of $7,041.55; all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Kathryn E. Van Houten of Irsfeld, Irsfeld & Younger LLP in Glendale.
