Consumers claimed they were injured by taking prescription drug Pradaxa

SAN FRANCISCO – San Francisco-based McKesson Corp. and others are accused of failing to warn about the allegedly harmful effects of a direct thrombin inhibitor.

Jon Bangert, Billie Barnes, Forrest Britt, et al. filed a complaint on April 3 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals Inc., McKesson Corp. and Does 1 through 50 alleging negligence, negligent misrepresentation and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered physical injuries from taking defendants' drug Pradaxa. The plaintiffs holds Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals Inc., McKesson Corp. and Does 1 through 50 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to warn the plaintiffs and other consumers regarding the harmful effects of taking Pradaxa, including excessive and/or uncontrollable bleeding.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek general damages, medical and other special damages, interest, punitive and exemplary damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. They are represented by Amy Eskin and Rachel Abrams of Levin Simes LLP in San Francisco.
