SAN FRANCISCO – Several individuals allege they were displaced after a fire at a 17th Street apartment building.

David Dobson, Patricia Friscia, Lisa Geduldig, Jim Liou, Donal Mountain, et al. filed a complaint on April 13 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Edward Gee, as trustee of the Gee Living Trust and Does 1-20, alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that, in April 21, 2016, as a result of the fire at the defendant's building, plaintiffs were evacuated from their homes and have been displaced ever since. The plaintiffs holds Gee, as trustee of the Gee Living Trust, and Does 1-20 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to enforce a prohibition against smoking and that the property did not have a working and adequate fire alarm or sprinkler system.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek injunctive relief requiring timely repair of the building, punitive damages, prejudgment interest, attorney's fees, costs and such other just and proper relief. They are represented by Ryan J. Vlasak and Michael A. Schreiber of Bracamontes & Vlasak PC in San Francisco.
