FRESNO – A Fresno County woman alleges that she was subjected to discrimination and harassment by her former employer based on her age and gender.

Maureen Matinzo filed a complaint on May 1 in the Fresno County Superior Court against John P.S. Janda, MD; Satvinder "Sean" Sandhu; and Does 1-25 alleging that they violated the California Government Code.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between April 2015 and June 1, 2015, on multiple occasions during her employment, plaintiff was sexually harassed. The plaintiff claims she reported the harassment to a manager, but no corrective action was taken. She alleges she was wrongfully terminated for complaining of the harassment.

The plaintiff holds Janda, Sandhu and Does 1-25 inclusive responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide employees a safe work environment and failed to thoroughly and promptly investigate the complaints of harassment.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for general, consequential and punitive damages; attorney's fees; costs incurred and such other relief as the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Nicholas J.P. Wagner of Wagner, Jones, Kopeman and Artenian LLP in Fresco.
