IHSS files suit against Yellow Cab Cooperative over alleged injuries sustained by employee

SAN FRANCISCO – The state alleges one of its employees was injured when she was struck by a cab.

State of California - IHSS administered by York Risk Services Group filed a complaint on April 19 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Yellow Cab Cooperative Inc., insured by Wesco Insurance Co., administered by North American Risk Services, and Does 1 through 100 alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 22, 2015, its employee Wanda Wong was struck by a vehicle owned by Yellow Cab while walking. The plaintiff alleges it is entitled to the workers' compensation benefits it paid on its employee's behalf because of Yellow Cab's negligence.

The plaintiff seeks damages, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Roger A. Cartozian and Fred W. Andrews III of Floyd, Skeren & Kelly LLP in Orange.
