SAN FRANCISCO – A tenant has filed suit against the owner of an Alabama Street, San Francisco property over allegations the owner has not made needed repairs.

Lidia Avila filed a complaint on April 18 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Bryta L. Schultz and Does 1-20 alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she has resided at the property since 1999 and that the defendant has failed to correct issues with rodents, water leaks, damaged windows and a damaged stove.

The plaintiff holds Bryta L. Schultz, Does 1-20 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to make repairs to their property and failed to reduce the plaintiff's rent to compensate for the decreases in housing services.

The plaintiff seeks actual damages, restitution, damages, general and special damages, injunction, treble damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Raquel Fox of Tenderloin Housing Clinic Inc. in San Francisco.
