LOS ANGELES – A Pomona consumer claims that PayPal Credit harassed him with collection calls.

Nathaniel Coward filed a complaint on May 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against PayPal Credit, formerly known as Bill Me Later Inc., alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that beginning in April 2016, he suffered damages from receiving several harassing collection calls on his cellular telephone from the defendant. The plaintiff holds PayPal Credit responsible because the defendant allegedly kept calling the plaintiff despite his request to stop calling and used an automatic telephone dialing system.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages of $500, treble damages of $1,500, injunctive relief, and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Amy Lynn Bennecoff Ginsburg of Kimmel & Silverman P.C. in Ambler, Pennsylvania.
