Fresno County teen alleges injuries from golf cart accident

FRESNO – A teen hired as a babysitter alleges she was injured in a golf cart accident because the driver was intoxicated.

Ashlyn Nicole Silva, a minor, by and through her guardian ad litem Crystal Silva, filed a complaint on May 8 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Jennifer Mari Yecny, Earl Jay Yecni Jr., Yvonne Betancourt and Does 1-50 alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 28, plaintiff was ejected from a golf cart being driven by defendant Jennifer Yecny. She alleges she sustained severe and disabling injuries to her foot, back, legs and nervous systems that resulted in great physical, mental and nervous pain and suffering, medical expenses and economic losses. 

The plaintiff holds Jennifer Mari Yecny, Earl Jay Yecni Jr., Yvonne Betancourt and Does 1-50 responsible because defendant Jennifer Yecny allegedly consumed a substantial amount of alcohol and was intoxicated at the time when she operated and overturned the golf cart.

The plaintiff seeks general damages in excess of $1 million and such other just and proper relief. She is represented by Peter I. Bersin of Law Office of Peter I. Bersin in Beverly Hills.
