Novelty Textiles Inc. claims two designs were used without authorization

LOS ANGELES – A Hackensack, New Jersey corporation is accused of unlawfully using a Los Angeles County corporation's textile designs.

Novelty Textiles Inc. filed a complaint on May 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Rebdolls Inc. and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages from having its 2771 and 1717 fabric designs copied without its consent. The plaintiff holds Rebdolls Inc. and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly sold garments made out of fabrics that bear plaintiff's designs.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, all profits, statutory damages, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott A. Burroughs, Trevor W. Barrett and Justin M. Gomes of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
