RIVERSIDE – A Los Angeles man has filed a suit against a financial institution over allegations it called him frequently enough to constitute harassment.
Nickolas Norman filed a complaint on May 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Eastern Division against Citibank NA alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2016, he requested that the defendant cease contacting him in regards to an alleged debt. The plaintiff holds Citibank NA responsible because the defendant allegedly kept on calling the plaintiff despite his request to stop calling and used an automatic telephone dialing system.
The plaintiff seeks statutory damages, punitive damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Matthew A. Rosenthal of Westgate Law in Los Angeles.
