LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles County man is suing is suing an insurance firm, alleging breach of contract.
Ali Darabi filed a complaint July 11 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Reliance Standard Life Insurance Company and Cottage Health Systems Group Ltd Plan, alleging they denied the plaintiff's legitimate claim for disability benefits.
According to the complaint, Darabi, an employee of Cottage Health, suffered damages from having his disability benefits denied. The plaintiff alleges the defendants terminated his disability benefits despite being fully disabled according to the terms of the plan.
Darabi seeks payment of disability benefits due the plaintiff, reinstatement, interest, all legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorneys Glenn R. Kantor and Brent Dorian Brehm of Kantor & Kantor, LLP in Northridge, California.
