Consumer accuses medical telemarketer of violating TCPA

LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles County man has filed a class action lawsuit against a medical telemarketer, alleging violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Tim Collins filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, July 25 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Lakeside Medical LLC and Does 1 through 10,alleging they illegally contacted the plaintiff in an attempt to sell their services, violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, Collins suffered damages from receiving unsolicited advertisements. The plaintiff alleges the defendants sent an unsolicited advertisement fax to his facsimile machine without her permission.

Collins seeks trial by jury, $500 in statutory damages, $1,500 in treble damages, and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorneys Todd M. Friedman, Meghan E. George, Adrian R. Bacon and Thomas E. Wheeler of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman PC in Woodland Hills.
