SAN FRANCISCO – A woman has sued a conference of the United Methodist Church after falling at a San Francisco church on Christmas two years ago.

Conchita A. Fonseca filed a complaint on Dec. 17 in the San Francisco Superior Court against California-Nevada Annual Conference (United Methodist Church) and Does 1 to 30 alleging premises liability and negligence.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 25, 2016, Fonseca was lawfully on the premises of the Geneva Avenue United Methodist Church in San Francisco when she tripped and fell on raised southwest corner sidewalk and walkway of the premises and was injured.

The plaintiff holds California-Nevada Annual Conference (United Methodist Church) responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain and inspect the premises.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for general damages, costs of suit, legal interest, and such other and further relief as the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by Steven C. Eggleston and Thomas C. Ramirez of Eggleston & Ramirez LLP in Irvine.
