Wrongful termination suit filed against Linger, Peterson & Shrum

Lawsuits
Wrongful term 10

FRESNO – A woman alleges she was wrongfully terminated by her former employer because she requested accommodation for her disability.

Dorthea Williams filed a complaint on Jan. 3 in the Fresno County Superior Court of California against Linger, Peterson & Shrum and Does 1 through 20 over alleged violation of the Fair Employment Housing Act.

According to the complaint, Williams alleges the defendant opposed to her requests for reasonable accommodation for her disability, terminated her employment and forced her to sign an independent contractor agreement.

The plaintiff holds Linger, Peterson & Shrum responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to engage in good faith in the interactive process and provide reasonable accommodation to plaintiff for her disabilities.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for payment of earned wages, penalties, damages, attorneys' fees, costs of suit, interest and such other and further relief as the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Michael J. Freiman of Law Office of Michael Freiman in Santa Monica.
