FRESNO – A woman alleges a Clovis woman's dog bit her without provocation.

Edith Lanssans filed a complaint on Jan. 14 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Vella Draughton alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 23, 2016, Lanssons was lawfully at the defendant's property to clean it when she was attacked and bitten by defendant's dog without provocation. As a result, she alleges she sustained three deep cuts to her leg that required immediate medical attention.

The plaintiff holds Draughton responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to have the dog under restraint or take any other precautions to prevent the dog from attacking plaintiff or other persons.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for compensatory damages, costs of suit and for such relief as is fair, just and equitable. She is represented by Jennifer E. Randall in Fresno.
