A former San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) worker has filed a lawsuit against the City and County of San Francisco, claiming they violated his rights by firing him after he was denied a religious exemption from the city's Covid vaccine mandate.

Plaintiff Cid Jaime, who worked as a Parking Control Officer for SFMTA for over 14 years, argues that the vaccines are experimental as they have not been fully approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA.) He asserts that taking the vaccine equates to entering into a medical trial, which requires informed consent under state and federal law.

Jaime is seeking unspecified general, compensatory, reliance and exemplary damages, plus attorney fees.

The lawsuit was filed in San Francisco County Superior Court on Dec. 1.

Jaime is represented by attorney Tracy L. Henderson, of the Law Offices of Tracy L. Henderson, of Carmel.
