A homeowner has sued a real estate agent and realty firm accusing them of misleading her into purchasing a home in Sonoma, allegedly telling her that solar panels on the property would allow her to earn money from power generation, when the panels actually allegedly cost her monthly.

On Dec. 13, plaintiff Marie Hurabiel, of San Francisco, filed suit in San Francisco County Superior Court against real estate agent Alexander Kiren and realty firm Compass, Inc., accusing them of allegedly misleading her into buying a property.

The property in question is located on Gehricke Road in Sonoma.

Hurabiell alleges that she was told solar panels on the property would allow her to earn up to $9,600 per year from power generation. However, she claims these panels have instead resulted in monthly costs.

Hurabiel is represented in the action by attorney Grant Ingram.

Hurabiell is seeking damages of at least $284,00o, accusing the defendants of alleged intentional misrepresentation, fraud and deceit, negligent misrepresentation, negligence and breach of fiduciary duty.
