A San Francisco woman has sued the W Hotel and the makers of the Dreamline shower door, claiming she is one of more than a dozen people who have been injured by exploding glass shower doors at the hotel.

Plaintiff Rachel Meri Denoble has filed a lawsuit against W Hotel Management Inc., Bath Authority LLC (dba Dreamline), KSSF Enterprises Ltd., Keck Seng Group - North America, C.W. Horton General Contractor Inc., Atlas Glass Co. Inc., and Marriot International Inc.

According to the lawsuit, in April 2022, Denoble used a Dreamline brand shower door at the hotel when it allegedly "exploded and shattered into little shards of glass that resulted in penetrating and 19 piercing cuts, lacerations, wounds, and gashes."

The lawsuit claims her experience was one of at least 15 times those shower doors have allegedly similarly shattered and allegedly injured hotel guests. The lawsuit alleges the hotel has failed to take action to remove the allegedly defective doors.

Denoble's complaint includes charges of general negligence, premises liability, strict products liability due to manufacturing defect, design defect and failure to warn, negligent failure to recall, and intentional failure to recall.

She is represented by attorney Brian G. Beecher from The Law Offices of Arash Khorsandi PC, of Los Angeles.

The lawsuit was filed March 21 in San Francisco County Superior Court.
