In the California Court of Appeal, First Appellate District, Joanna L. Pfeister has filed a lawsuit against Stephen Rogers and others, including the City & County of San Francisco. The case ID is A165508 and it was filed on April 15, 2024. The lawsuit revolves around allegations of discrimination and various abuses by the defendants towards Pfeister.

Pfeister applied for an open seat on her homeowners association board but alleges that the defendants engaged in a series of actions to deter her from serving due to her being part of a protected class. She claims that they postponed board elections, made false police reports about her, and initiated meritless civil action against her. The defendants include Giampaolo D’Errico and Stephen Rogers.

The plaintiff asserts causes of action for discrimination, abuse of process, malicious prosecution, invasion of privacy, elder abuse, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and various corporate abuses. However, the defendants filed an anti-SLAPP motion to strike these claims which was denied by the trial court due to untimeliness and because some causes either did not arise from protected activity or Pfeister established a probability of prevailing on her claims.

Pfeister seeks judgment for alleged discrimination and various abuses committed by the defendants. She also seeks damages for emotional distress caused by their actions as well as costs incurred in defending against litigation initiated by them.
