SAN JOSE – A San Benito County woman alleges that her insurance company wrongfully terminated her benefits.

Sylvia Jimenez filed a complaint on April 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, San Jose Division against Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Co. citing alleged breach of contract.

She alleges her benefits were suddenly wrongfully terminated without any reason. The plaintiff holds Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Co. responsible because she is still disabled under the terms of the plan.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks special damages of approximately $382,000 plus interest at the legal rate, emotional and punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Scott E. Shaffman in Monterey.
