Muzzi Family Farms LLC files suit for allegedly unpaid invoices

SAN FRANCISCO – A Moss Landing company alleges it is owed several thousand dollars for perishable agricultural commodities.

Muzzi Family Farms LLC filed a complaint on May 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against East & West Gourmet Food Inc., East and West Gourmet Afghan Food, Nazifa Sidiq, Rhateb Sidiq and Billal Sidiq, citing breach of contract, violation of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between Sept. 11, 2015, and Oct.12, 2015, it suffered damages to its business as a result of unpaid products ordered by the defendants. The plaintiff holds East & West Gourmet Food Inc., East and West Gourmet Afghan Food, Nazifa Sidiq, Rhateb Sidiq and Billal Sidiq responsible because the defendants allegedly failed and refused to pay for produce delivered by plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks damages in the amount of $62,121.60 plus interest at the highest legal rate, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. It is represented by Bart M. Botta of Rynn & Janowsky LLP in Newport Beach.
