SAN FRANCISCO – A San Jose company is suing a Massachusetts corporation alleging it manufactured its own version of the plaintiff's product after a contract ended.

GLT Technovations LLC filed a complaint on May 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Broleco Worldwide Inc. citing breach of nondisclosure agreement, misappropriation of trade secrets, conversion, unfair competition and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between June 20, 2009 and December 2012, the defendant manufactured the plaintiff's TouchTec leather gloves, which can be used with touchscreen devices. The plaintiff holds Broleco Worldwide Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly continued to manufacture and market its own version of plaintiff's product called Matrix leather after their contract with plaintiff ended.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages of more than $75,000, permanently enjoin the defendant from making Matrix leather, exemplary damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. It is represented by Margaret A. Smith and Anthony L. Leto of Smith & Leto in Los Gatos.
