SAN FRANCISCO – An individual has filed a class-action lawsuit against three retail stores alleging that they falsely advertised their product's retail prices.

Zohreh Farhang filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on May 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Macy's Inc., Macy's West Stores Inc. and Bloomingdale's Inc. citing unfair business practices, fraudulent business practices, unlawful business practices and false advertising.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 22, she was misled into buying a rug that she thought was on sale. The plaintiff holds Macy's Inc., Macy's West Stores Inc. and Bloomingdale's Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly falsely advertised their products to show that they were discounted, but upon inspection the sale prices of the products were actually its original manufacturers suggested retail price.

The plaintiff seeks damages, restitution or disgorgement of all profits, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by James Robert Noblin of Green & Noblin PC in Larkspur and Kenneth G. Gilman of Gilman Law LLP in Bonita Springs, Florida.
