Wa Heng Dou-Fu & Soy Sauce Corp. alleged to use unsafe food handling processes

SACRAMENTO – A Sacramento soy product distributor is being accused of unsanitary packing conditions.

United States of America filed a complaint on June 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against Wa Heng Dou-Fu & Soy Sauce Corp., doing business as Wa Heng Dou-Fu & Soy Sauce International Enterprises, and Peng Xiang "Martin" Lin, and Yuexiao "Opal" Lin alleging that they failed to keep their food processing facilities in a sanitary condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendant distributed adulterated foods that may cause serious health conditions. The plaintiff holds Wa Heng Dou-Fu & Soy Sauce Corp., Peng Xiang "Martin" Lin, and Yuexiao "Opal" Lin responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to use precaution while repacking their goods, which caused them to become contaminated by filth that may cause health problems to consumers.

The plaintiff seeks permanently restrain and enjoin the defendants, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Raquel Toledo, Benjamin C. Mizer, Jonathan F. Olin and Michael S. Blume of U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. and Phillip A. Talbert and Colleen M. Kennedy of Assistant United States Attorney in Sacramento.
