Phone 01

SACRAMENTO – A Sacramento woman has filed a class-action suit against a residential mortgage lending company alleging that it contacted her in an attempt to solicit its services.

Susan Hayes filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on June 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against Paramount Equity Mortgage LLC and Does 1 through 10 alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in September 2015, she was called by the defendant on her home telephone despite her requests for it to stop calling her. The plaintiff holds Paramount Equity Mortgage LLC and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly repeatedly called plaintiff despite the fact that her number is listed on the National Do-Not-Call Registry.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks $500 in statutory damages for each violation, $1,500 in treble damages for each violation, and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Todd M. Friedman, Adrian R. Bacon and Meghan E. George of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman PC in Beverly Hills.
