Orange County resident's education loans in default, government claims

LOS ANGELES – An Orange County man is alleged to have defaulted on his student loans.

United States of America, on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education, filed a complaint on Aug. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Filadelfo Brito alleging that the individual failed to pay his debt to plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Brito failed to settle his debt to plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $2,956.54, interest of $1,973.87 plus ongoing interest accruing thereafter at 56 cents and 54 cents per day, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by William I. Goldsmith, Jack D. Hull and Michael L. Goldsmith of Goldsmith & Hull APC in Northridge.
