LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County man is accused of not paying back his student loans.
United States of America, acting on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education, filed a complaint on Aug. 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against James S. Mason, also known as James S. Adams, alleging that the individual failed to settle his debt to plaintiff.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Mason failed to pay the principal amount of his debt to plaintiff plus interest.
The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $7,357.42 plus interest of $2,895.49, with interest accruing thereafter at 86 cents and 60 cents per day, administrative charges of $26.75, and all legal fees. It is represented by William I. Goldsmith and Michael L. Goldsmith of Goldsmith & Hull APC in Northridge.
