Individual accused of failure to pay education loan

LOS ANGELES – The federal government has filed a suit against an individual seeking the payment of a student loan reportedly in default.

United States of America, acting on behalf of the Department of Education, filed a complaint on Aug. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Mary E. Quitiquit alleging that the individual failed to settle her debt with plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Quitiquit failed to pay the principal balance of her debt with plaintiff plus interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $911 plus interest of $462.60 with further interest at 3 percent per annum accruing at 7 cents per day, administrative charge of $87, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by William I. Goldsmith and Michael L. Goldsmith of Goldsmith & Hull APC in Northridge.
