LOS ANGELES — A Canadian corporation claims three of its compositions were used without permission in a film.

Hit Bound Music LTD filed a complaint on Sept. 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against BBC Films, Le Premier Productions Inc., Cohen Media Group LLC, Fulldawa Films LLC and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that BBC Films, Le Premier Productions Inc., Cohen Media Group LLC, Fulldawa Films LLC and Does 1-10 used three of its musical compositions in the film "My Old Lady" without authorization. It alleges the defendants have not compensated it for the songs' use.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, allegedly ill-gotten profits, statutory damages, injunction against the defendant, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Neville L. Johnson, James T. Ryan and Jennifer J. McGrath of Johnson & Johnson LLP in Beverly Hills.
