LOS ANGELES – Two entertainment photojournalism companies allege their copyrighted photos were used without permission by an Orange County-based website.

BWP Media USA Inc., doing business as Pacific Coast News, and Barcroft Media LTD filed a complaint on Oct. 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against TechnoBuffalo LLC and Sean P. Aune alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered damages from having their copyrighted photographs relating to the "Suicide Squad" movie used without being paid any license fee on the defendant's technobuffalo.com website. The plaintiffs hold TechnoBuffalo LLC and Aune responsible because the defendants allegedly used the plaintiffs' photographs without permission.

The plaintiffs seek award damages, statutory damages of up to $150,000 per infringement, actual damages, disgorgement, permanent injunction against the defendant, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Craig B. Sanders of Sanders Law PLLC in Garden City, New York.
