Cigna Life Insurance accused of wrongfully denying disability benefits

LOS ANGELES – A former employee of Taylor Made Group alleges his disability benefits were wrongfully terminated.

Keith Brockway filed a complaint on Nov. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Cigna Life Insurance Co. of New York citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was initially paid benefits by the defendant until the benefits were terminated in July 2015. The plaintiff holds Cigna Life Insurance Co. of New York responsible because the defendant allegedly denied plaintiff's disability benefits despite having sufficient medical proof to support his claim.

The plaintiff seeks award benefits to the plaintiff plus interest, determine that plaintiff is eligible to receive future disability benefits, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deem just. He is represented by Frank N. Darras, Lissa A. Martinez, Susan B. Grabarsky and Phillip S. Bather of Darras Law in Ontario.
