Internet

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County woman alleges she is disabled and that her claim for disability benefits was wrongfully denied.

Chrystal Smith filed a complaint on Nov. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Aetna Life Insurance Co., Computer Sciences Short-Term Disability Plan and Does 1 to 10 citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2013, she became disabled and applied for disability benefits but was denied. The plaintiff holds Aetna Life Insurance Co., Computer Sciences Short-Term Disability Plan and Does 1 to 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly denied plaintiff's disability benefits based on their claim that there is no subjective evidence of her disability.

The plaintiff seeks damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Kevin M. Zietz of Law Offices of Kevin M. Zietz PC in Encino and Todd Krauss of Law Offices of Todd Krauss & Associates in Encino.
