RIVERSIDE – Two fitness counselors allege a fitness club operator violated labor wage laws and have filed a class action.
Gina Morales and Vincent Laguna filed a complaint on behalf of those similarly situated on Nov. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Eastern Division against
Fitness Alliance LLC and Does 1 through 10
alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered damages from not being paid minimum wages or given adequate meal breaks during their employment. The plaintiffs hold Fitness Alliance LLC and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants also allegedly failed to provide an itemized wage statement to the plaintiffs.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek nominal damages, liquidated damages, restitution, disgorgement, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Kevin Mahoney, Na’Shaun Neal and Treana Allen of Mahoney Law Group APC in Long Beach.
