Copyright 03

LOS ANGELES – A Santa Monica photographer alleges a photo was used without permission on a website.

Michael Grecco Productions Inc., doing business as Michael Grecco Photography, filed a complaint on Jan. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Paste Media Group LLC, doing business as pastemagazine.com, and Does 1-10 citing copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it is the owner of a photo taken in 2006 of Martin Scorsese and has registered it with the U.S. Copyright Office.  The plaintiff holds Paste Media Group LLC, doing business as pastemagazine.com, and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly displayed plaintiff's photographs on their website without the plaintiff's authorization.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants from further infringing plaintiff's copyrights, award all profits and damages, statutory damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott Alan Burroughs, and David Shein of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
