LOS ANGELES – A car detailer alleges an online used car sales business never paid him for his work.

David Gutti filed a complaint on Jan. 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Beepi Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he owned his own detailing shop before closing it to work full-time for the defendant. He alleges he was terminated in December 2016 and was never paid. The plaintiff holds Beepi Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly owes him approximately $98,000.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid wages in the amount of $98,000 plus general and special damages at least $26,000, statutory liquidated damages of $129,000, reimbursement of all business related expenses in the amount of $34,000, restitution and disgorgement, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by A. Douglas Mastroianni of Mastroianni Law Firm in Long Beach.
