Star Fabrics Inc. claims copyrighted floral pattern was unlawfully copied

LOS ANGELES – Several entities are accused of creating or developing an infringing fabric design.

Star Fabrics Inc. filed a complaint on Feb. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Eska Inc., Inspire, Lollol USA Inc., Evogues Apparel, Fashion Expo Plus, Blue Textile, Amber Blue LLC and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business. The plaintiff holds Eska Inc., Inspire, Lollol USA Inc., Evogues Apparel, Fashion Expo Plus, Blue Textile, Amber Blue LLC and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly manufactured and sells fabrics that bear plaintiff's 64826 floral design.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants from further infringing plaintiff's designs, award all profits to the plaintiff, statutory damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott A. Burroughs and Howard S. Han of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
