LOS ANGELES – A consumer claims a financial institution is unlawfully calling him.
Michael D. Starkey filed a complaint on Feb. 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against JPMorgan Chase Bank NA and Does 1-10 alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in April 2016, he suffered damages from receiving several collection calls regarding a debt that was discharged in bankruptcy. The plaintiff holds JPMorgan Chase Bank NA and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly kept on calling the plaintiff despite his requests to stop calling him.
The plaintiff seeks statutory damages of $500, statutory damages of $1,500, statutory damages of $1,000, actual damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Stuart Price of Price Law Group, APC in Encino.
