LOS ANGELES — An
individual has filed a class-action lawsuit regarding a pension plan.
John Baleja filed a complaint on behalf of all others
similarly situated on Feb. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Central
District of California, Eastern Division against
Salaried Pension Plan, Northrop Grumman Benefit Plans Administrative
Committee, Northrop Grumman Corp., and Does 1 through 10
citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was previously enrolled in
the ESL Retirement Fund, which was terminated in 1984 and replaced by
the TRW plan. In December 2015, the suit states he contacted the
Northrop Grumman Benefits Center inquire about his pension benefits and
was quote that he would receive $1,066.80 per month. The suit states a
later letter dated in January that reduced this amount by $471.30 per

Systems Corp. Salaried Pension Plan, Northrop Grumman Benefit Plans
Administrative Committee, Northrop Grumman Corporation, and Does 1
through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to inform
the plaintiff regarding the ESL offset and use terms that are easily
The plaintiff seeks benefits due, order the plan to
remove the terms that constitute the ESL offset, surcharging defendants
for their breaches of duty, all legal fees interest and any other
relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Victor O'Connell,
