LOS ANGELES — A California consumer has filed a class action lawsuit against Amazon, alleging negligent misrepresentation.
Grant McKee filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, March 10 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Audible Inc. and Amazon.com Inc., alleging, they failed to disclose the consequences of canceling a policy.
According to the complaint, McKee was misled into signing up for an audiobook purchasing plan. The plaintiff alleges the defendants did not inform the plaintiff and other consumers that if they cancel the plan, they would also forfeit all previously purchased credits.
McKee seeks trial by jury, actual, consequential and punitive damages, restitution and disgorgement, injunctive relief against the defendant, court costs, interest and all relief the court grants. He is represented by attorney Jamin S. Soderstrom of Soderstrom Law PC in Irvine.
