Woman alleged to owe more than $5,000, plus interest on student loan

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County woman is alleged to have failed to pay a student loan.

United States of America filed a complaint on April 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Dawna M. Edmond, also known as Dawna M. Brooks and Dawna M. Crawford, alleging that the individual failed to settle her debt with the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Edmond failed to pay the principal amount of her debt including interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $5,268.48 plus interest of $11,152.52 with interest accruing thereafter at 8 percent per annum, and all legal fees. It is represented by Kathryn E. Van Houten of Irsfeld, Irsfeld & Younger LLP in Glendale.
