Unicolors Inc. accuses Cotton Express Corp., others of infringing textile design

LOS ANGELES – A textile converter alleges one of its designs was used without its authorization in clothing.

Unicolors Inc. filed a complaint on April 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Cotton Express Corp., 10 Spot of Kearny LLC, Burlington Coat Factory Direct Corp. and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business from having its Double Border/Repeat Border 2014(6) design copied without its permission. The plaintiff holds Cotton Express Corp., 10 Spot of Kearny LLC, Burlington Coat Factory Direct Corp. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly manufactured or sold garments made out of fabrics that bear plaintiff's design.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, all profits, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by C. Yong Jeong and Amy J. Choe of Jeong & Likens LC in Los Angeles.
