Former manager says he was fired for supporting co-worker's report of discrimination

FRESNO — A former employee is suing Sacramento Container Corporation and numerous unnamed persons with the company, alleging retaliation.

Alex Acosta, who was employed by defendant as transportation manager, filed a complaint on April 17 in the Fresno County Superior Court against the defendants alleging that they retaliated against the plaintiff and wrongfully terminated his employment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages from being terminated from employment. The plaintiff holds Sacramento Container Corporation responsible because it allegedly terminated the plaintiff as retaliation for supporting a co-worker's claim regarding discrimination and harassment in the workplace.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks reinstatement, compensatory damages, interest, special damages, general damages, punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Michael J.F. Smith and John L. Migliazzo of Michael J.F. Smith PC in Fresno.
