Man accuses Clovis Veterans Memorial District of gender discrimination

FRESNO – A Fresno County resident alleges that he was discriminated against by his former employer.

Joel Diaz filed a complaint on April 18 in the Fresno County Superior Court against the Clovis Veterans Memorial District and Does 1 through 10 alleging gender discrimination, Family and Medical Leave Act retaliation, disability discrimination and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was reassigned a less desirable position and later terminated in 2013. The plaintiff holds Clovis Veterans Memorial District and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide accommodation to the plaintiff for his disability in order to perform his job and later discharged plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks economic damages, lost wages and benefits, interest, injunctive relief, all legal fees, and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Kevin Schwin of Law Office of Kevin Schwin in Fresno.
